PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography has been a part of my life since I was 13. The magic of capturing moments has profoundly transformed my perception of the visible world, shaping my understanding of visual connections and continuing to influence my artistic vision to this day. Looking back on my body of work, I can clearly see a thread of continuity. The built environment has always been the central subject of my images, from modern architecture to monuments and even abandoned spaces marked by traces of human presence—capturing the fleeting nature of existence in these temporary structures.

INVISIBLE CITIES

One of the key elements that shape the unique character of Milan is the temporary events scattered throughout its streets. These events are not confined to renowned occasions like fashion, design, or architecture festivals, but are woven into the daily fabric of life across various neighborhoods. A quintessential example of this is the “Mercato,” the traditional street market that has existed in most Italian cities for centuries.

STOP-MOTION

This "stop-motion" effect—where tourists are awestruck while locals rush by—plays out daily around tourist landmarks in metropolises like Milan. The city, which hosts millions of inhabitants from diverse races, religions, and nationalities, presents an apparent unity at first glance. Yet, upon closer inspection, it reveals clear distinctions in how people experience its spaces, embodying different journeys in the same city.

TRINITY

“Trinity” is my personal tribute to the art of storytelling. Throughout my journey in the world of art, I came to realize that my deepest passion lies in crafting and sharing stories. Over time, I found that what excites me most about art is the narrative it carries.

FLORENCE; AS I SAW

Once, an art historian told me, “If you ever get the chance to visit a city, visit Florence.” That advice stayed with me, and when I migrated to Europe to begin my studies in Italy, Florence became my first destination.

TECHNO BERLIN

Berlin captivated me deeply from the very first moment. Just a few months after my arrival in Germany, I planned a visit to explore the city. After a long day of wandering through its vibrant streets, I was preparing to return to my hotel when I stumbled upon a massive techno festival in full swing.

LUCCA DREAMS

This photography project, commissioned by a friend as an anniversary gift, celebrates a decade of marriage for a couple who wed in the charming city of Lucca. The friend wanted to give them a special memoir to mark this milestone.

MAXXII MUSEUM

The MAXXI Museum in Rome, designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid, stands as a pivotal project in her illustrious career. As Italy's first national museum dedicated to contemporary art and architecture, MAXXI showcases Hadid's innovative approach to fluid forms and dynamic spaces.

FONDAZIONE PRADA

The Fondazione Prada in Milan, designed by renowned architect Rem Koolhaas, showcases the transformative potential of architecture. By converting a former industrial site into a vibrant cultural hub, Koolhaas has crafted a space where contemporary art and historical context blend seamlessly.

GLOOMY VENICE

This photographic essay captures the unique ambiance of a first visit to Venice on a gloomy weekend. The images portray the city's iconic canals, historic architecture, and bustling streets shrouded in an atmospheric mist, offering a different perspective on its timeless beauty.

SOMETHING NUMB

“Something Numb” captures the story of those dull, lazy mornings—the moments when we reluctantly wake up and face the relentless grind of daily life. It's about the necessity to push ourselves into the rat race, often starting tasks that feel devoid of meaning.

SIMPLE AS LAZINESS

“Simple as laziness” emerged during a particularly frigid winter in Tehran. My intent wasn't to shift my perspective or capture perfectly sharp images, but rather to convey the mood and essence of the cold that enveloped the city.

FROM 0 TO 78m

“From 0 to 78m” is the title of my master's thesis project at Politecnico di Milano, presented as a photo essay set in Lipari, one of the Aeolian Islands near Sicily. The island's history is closely intertwined with the excavation and transport of pumice and obsidian stone. However, the entire pumice powder production industry was shut down following a UNESCO order, as the island is now protected and recognized as part of the world’s natural heritage.

SCUDERIE DEL MONTEL

Scuderie De Montel is a site of historical interest near San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, partially occupied by buildings that once overlooked a courtyard used for horse training and equestrian competitions. The stables, a remarkable example of early 20th-century Art Nouveau architecture, still bear recognizable artistic and stylistic details.

TALES OF FANTASY

Lucca Comics & Games is the premier fair in Italy and Europe dedicated to comics, entertainment, board games, role-playing games, and fantasy imagery. While I was in Lucca working on my project Luca Dreams, I also had the opportunity to document this fantastic event.

HANGAR BICOCCA

Hangar Bicocca, located in Milan, Italy, is a contemporary art space dedicated to large-scale installations and exhibitions. Originally an industrial site, it has been transformed into a venue that showcases significant contemporary artworks, including installations by Anselm Kiefer.
