FLORENCE;
AS I SAW

Once, an art historian told me, “If you ever get the chance to visit a city, visit Florence.” That advice stayed with me, and when I migrated to Europe to begin my studies in Italy, Florence became my first destination. This set of photos represents my initial impressions of the city's overwhelming beauty, with its countless priceless masterpieces scattered throughout. Since my trip took place in November, when Florence was enveloped in the gray, moody atmosphere of fall, I chose to capture all my images in black and white. This approach allowed me to emphasize the city's melancholic charm and highlight its timeless elegance in the midst of the gloom.
