MASHQ

In Persian calligraphic tradition, Mashq refers to the act of practicing calligraphy, a discipline that has captivated me since primary school. Coming from a family where beautiful handwriting was highly valued, my excitement for calligraphy grew over the years. I explored various forms of Persian and Arabic calligraphy, including Nastaliq, Sols, and the more contemporary Moalla. This foundation made Mashq a daily ritual for me, and I often filled the borders of my schoolbooks with calligraphy. As technology advanced, I began using digital tools to blend calligraphy with typography, creating visual compositions inspired by poetry, literature, and socio-political themes. This ongoing practice continues to evolve, combining the old and the new in a creative journey.
